I go to the dentist each month and each time I dread the experience. The reason why I hate going to the dentist is because of the toothpaste. I just feels all crunchy and when they put it on it feels really weird. I ask for mint flavor because that is the most tasteless paste in my opinion. Is there some other toothpaste I can ask them to use? Is there a way I can make it more enjoyable?
In the office I work in. We have cherry paste that taste really good, also we have pinacolda and grape as well as bubblegum which is very yummy! And we do have the traditional mint. To make your visit more comfortable try taking a pair of headphones with you so you can listen to music. Our office provides headphones and we have T.V. in every room.

I am a community heath care worker trying to find out if there is any pro bono dental care in Gr. MI. to assist clients. All are low income, most are uninsured in the dental dept. Some have limited health coverage. Our service helps people to resource.
a little more info., I am also looking for pro bono work like extractions, dentures, partials, ect.
I don't know of any probono, but teaching schools are a great resource for person's with little to no insurance. My dental hygiene school only charges $25 for adults and $15 for kids and seniors (that includes many things along with a cleaning, such as x-rays). Try looking up dental and dental hygiene schools in your area.

A dentist performed unnecessary work on me and misrepresented additional work that needed to be done. When I got a second, and third, opinion, these other dentists negated what the unethical dentist had put me through. The ADA won't accept any consumer complaints. Any suggestions to ensure others are protected against this unfortunate "dentist"?
*****Call the local news station and ask them to do an expose! You may also want to contact the Better Business Bureau!
Your insurance company will be REALLY interested as well!

My 9 y/o daughter got braces and I want to make sure that her teeth are getting cleaned properly. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Sonicare is especially recommended for someone with braces.
Sonicare Elite is my top choice. There are many different model designations, but the "motors" are all pretty much the same. The kits are different because they pack different accessories. Some have two brush heads and some have four. Some have a travel bag and some have a wall-mount charger instead of a counter top charger.
Just read the label carefully and buy what you need. Bear in mind that you will have to replace the brush heads about every six months, so see if it is cheaper to buy a few extra brush heads in one of the kits.
Otherwise, buy a Sonicare, read and follow the directions. The directions are very clear and easy to understand.
If you want to try a Sonicare without taking out a loan, I've got good news for you. I just bought one for THIRTY DOLLARS. It uses two "AA" batteries, so you are not paying for a charger, etc. I have no idea how long the batteries last (yet), but $70 would buy a boat load of batteries. It seems to be equally effective as the rechargeable version with the new batteries.

I currently have no insurance. I will receive health insurance after the first of the year, but it does not include dental. I am trying to figure out how to go to the dentist without dental insurance.
Call and ask the nearest dental office if payments in instalments are accepted, than go and pay by cash, or cheque; if necessary pay the whole amount by a credit card. Also, the dental schools allow their students to practise under supervision and the patients get the low cost treatments. Good luck.

I need to go see a dentist bad, with no health insurance, little money, is there a thing as free dental care?
I live in california
find a local university or community college that has a dental program. they offer cleanings and some minor repairs. problem is it will take longer, and they are still learning so screw-ups are possible.
I would also suggest calling all dentists in your area. some of them will allow you to make monthly payments. I had to get 2 pulled a while back- no insurance, i make too much money for gov't assistance, but a $300 dental bill would have killed me and my kids. I found a really great dentist who let me pay him $10/month. It was really quite amazing.
I also remember, from back when i was little that my church had a free dental day, where a couple of the dentists who attended would get together to help members in need. You may try that route as well.
good luck to you.

I am a little nervous about having a tooth pulled on Thrusday. It will be the first time and hopfully the last, what type of meds will the dentist prescribe for pain? How long will the pain last because I am scduduled for 9am and I need to return to work the same day?
He should prescribe an antibiotic and a narcotic.

I have a really bad gum infection on a wisdom tooth. My teeth are fine and healthy as I see a dentist every six months so I think it’s just from a bit of food stuck in there rather than an underlying problem.
Other than antibiotics, what will the dentist do? Do they lance the gum or anything first?
Edit: he won't pull them out as he says they're fine, just a little crowded.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm 28.
try listerine every day !! really can help

i just wondered the dental care cost difference of each states. for example, in case of bridge, which state is the most (least) expensive? just assume that patients use an average level of health insurance. hope to hear your kind answers.
Tooth whitening cost depends on the type of tooth whitening product or service you want. There are professional tooth whitening system that cost up to $1000, for example laser tooth whitening. Other tooth whitening system with cheaper tooth whitening cost are opalescence tooth whitening, crest tooth whitening strip, use of tooth whitening pen.
Dentists in different areas render tooth whitening products and services. Such as tooth whitening Chicago, tooth whitening Los Angeles, tooth whitening Boston, tooth whitening Denver tooth whitening san Francisco, tooth whitening Beverly hills, tooth whitening Houston and so on.
