I am not yet 65 so I really need some good dental work. I have no income and am on SS because my husband died. I have always had good teeth but now I need some work done and the Dental work is so out of sight. Does anyone know where I can get something done for less than a million (?) dollars? I am a senior citizen in need of some dental work.
a dental school.
I don’t know where you live, but if there is a university with a dental school, you may be able to go there.
My dentist does clinical training at a local university and he has been known to send his limited income patients there.
He doesn’t get anything for it, he does it because the people need the work and can’t afford regular prices.
If you just need a cleaning, you might be able to find a dental hygenist school to handle that.

I’ve run into more and more people who are combining medical care with vacation, in order to avoid outrageously priced procedures in the U.S. I’m trying to find good leads (to avoid quacks) for root canal work and fillings in Mexico, Costa Rica, etc. Language is not a problem. Does anyone have experience with this?
You can choose from here :

Has anyone ever traveled to Cuba or Canada to get free dental care???
I was thinking of going to Cuba & getting my teeth done like Michael Moore in Sicko
took the Americans over there & did is it possible to do I am a citizen?
A Cuban person told me I could I just heve to get my own Novaciane they don’t have alot down there
Serious answers please
I would never get dental work done in another country again. If something goes wrong then you have to either travel back there again to have the dentist fix it ( there goes the $$ you thought you could save) or you have to pay a dentist here to fix it. If you pay to have it done here in the first place, then the dentist should stand by his/her work. Not every country have the same sanitation standards/ infection control etc.

Need extensive work done, and have no $$$$$, any place that would offer free or drastically cheap dental care ??
Try local dental school or community health care centers.
You can also apply for medicaid.

I am trying to help a friend out who lives in South Carolina she needs dental care but I cant find any social service organizations to help her ,they denied her for Medicaid ,are there any more options in south Carolina to help a very low income person get dental care?
Try calling a state hospital and ask them, hopefully they can lead you in the right direction.
Call the red cross and also the united way

They used to have really bad teeth. The French had better dental care long before the brits.
They’re still waiting.

Example:
*Visit dentist twice a year.
* Floss after all meals and snacks with power flosser.
* No sugar in diet other than what is in fruit.
* Brush after all meals and snacks with a power toothbrush such as Sonicare.
* Irrigate mouth with WaterPik or similar device.
* Clean tongue.
Probably no one is this perfect. But what is your idea of perfect dental home care?
P.S. To dentists and hygienists: Here’s your chance to tell us what the perfect dental patient would do.
that sounds like a great regimen.
I would add:
*when you brush with a manual toothbrush, use small circular motions at a 45 degree angle
*brush after every meal/snack
*floss at least 1 time/day and wrap the floss in a c-shape around the tooth and floss each side of the tooth. Also go under the gums to remove plaque hidden there. It will reduce the bacteria and the incidence of periodontal disease.
*avoid sodas (acid & sugar), juice (excess sugar and staining) and sugary gums/mints etc.
Ask your hygienist at your next cleaning which areas you had more plaque/tartar buildup so you can focus better on these areas.
Good LucK!

Two years in a row I had dental work done at the dental clinic in Guardalavaca. It isn't free but certainly inexpensive by Canadian standards. In December I had 2 fillings and a crown done, the price 65 CUC under $85.00 Canadian. In Canada it would have been at least $400-500.00 Dr. Miguel the dentist didn't freeze anything so it hurt a bit but the quality was very good. He had also done a filling for me the previous December but that time he froze everything so possibly he was out of novocaine this time. He spoke excellent English. All you have to do is ask client services at your resort to make an appointment.
Edit: Thank you college girl, you probably know Dr. Miguel and that clinic.

some dental problems could be very life threatening like an abscess.
Also dental care could be very expensive, like 3000 for a root canal.
There are several types of subsidized dental care systems in various European countries, for example. If you are really interested, you can look up the different programs, by country, and see the type of government programs, private programs, varying insurance coverage plans and combinations thereof. We could evaluate those programs to see what aspects might work well here since many people here have no dental coverage.
