How can you cure a toothache at home, without going to the dentist, due to money problems?

Due to money problems we can not get to a dentist right now. Tylonol, ibprofene and codine are not working. Crushed asprin does not help either.

Call your community health department to see if there is a free or reduced fee dental clinic in your area. Most counties have one. If you notice any swelling go to the emergency room immediately. Toothaches that abcess can be dangerous. The infection can travel to your brain and can kill you. You cannot cure a toothache at home. If you cannot get rid of the pain with codiene, you will not be able to get rid of the toothache. If the pain is that bad, you more than likely have an infection, which you cannot get rid of without antibiotics or removing the source of the infection. If all else fails- go to your medical doctor or local health clinic.

well, you can try going to the hospital to get it taken care of. i used to work in the dental department of a hospital. they cannot refuse you treatment if your in pain and they can reduce your bill, sometimes as low as twenty dollars. give it a try. good luck honey, i know toothaches are terrible.

unfortunately you cant. you must see a dentist it could abcess and you could die. try dental schools- theyre usually cheaper. also some dentists have payment plans. but you need to go. sorry. if its really bad, you can go to the hospital er but if its not bad enough, that will be another expense and no real help. also call your local gov't human services- they can help with clinincs and financial help. good luck

The others are right: there is no way to "cure" a toothache at home. You might temporarily relieve symptoms, but you haven't "cured" anything and it will only get worse if left untreated.

There are community resources for people who truly can't afford dentistry. Keep in mind that you will be screened to see if you're eligible. Unfortunately, for every deserving person out there, many others are trying to work the system or just get something for nothing.

Oh, and please NEVER put an aspirin tablet directly on your tooth. Aspirin is acidic.

Not sure it's advisable to let it go. Infection could kick in and cause serious health risk to other parts of the body. To mask pain though you can always rotate ibuprofen every 2-3 hrs with extra strength Tylenol. Look at schedule below

    ibu (2-3hrs) x str. tyl (2-3hrs) ibu (2-3 hrs) x str. tyl (2-3hrs)

never exceed the daily amount for each pain med. Always eat before taking pain meds.

Ibuprofen works on site and helps with inflammation
Extra strength Tylenol works in the brain.

By rotating these 2 pain meds (provided you don't have any allergies or health conditions that don't allow you to take these pain meds) you receive the benefits of pain relief in 2 different ways.

Hope this helped. I seriously think you need to see a doctor though. You might need an antibiotic. A lot of pharmacies are waiving the fees of antibiotics now….just an fyi

Good luck (recovery assist. for oral surgeon)

Even tho it would be expensive, its worth your health to see whats going on. Call a dentist and tell em whats going on and ask em how much would it be to take an xray. You need to know what going on with that tooth. It could be something little or something that could really harm your health. But its worth it to find out.
